Tax Collector’s Notice

Please take notice that I, the undersign Collector of Taxes for the Town of Newport, Herkimer County, New York, has fully received the Tax Roll and Warrant for the collection of taxes for the 2023 fiscal year and I will be at the following place during the time set, except holidays, for that purpose of receiving the taxes listed on such rolls.  Tax collection will be at the Newport Town Clerk’s Office at 2788 Newport Road, Newport, New York 3416 for the months January, February and March 2023.

Hours will be:

 Monday             1:00pm-6:00pm

Wednesday       11:30am-3:00pm

Thursday            11:30am-3:00pm

NOTICE:  Taxes may be paid on or before January 31, 2023 without charge or interest.  On all such taxes remaining unpaid after January 31, 2023, one percent of the unpaid taxes will be added for the first month and an additional one percent for each additional month or fraction thereof.  Thereafter, the unpaid taxes need to be made to the Herkimer County Treasurer pursuant to law.
