Please take notice that the Planning Board of the Town of Newport will conduct a public hearing on Thursday, April 29, 2021 at 6:30 pm at the Newport Town Hall at 2788 Newport Road, Newport, NY 13416 to consider the following applications:

            1). Application for a Special Use Permit by Herkimer Diamond Mines, Inc. at proposed building site on 4601 State Route 28, Herkimer, NY 13350 in the Town of Newport. Proposed construction to extend usage for 100 campsites for RV/Camper.  Includes buildings, roadway, utility and stormwater construction in zoning district Agricultural.

            2). Application for a Special Use Permit by Steven Camp, Newport DG, LLC  (Dollar General) at proposed building site on 8556 State Route 28, Poland, NY 13431 in the Town of Newport. Proposed 10,640 square foot building, paved asphalt parking, concrete pads and stormwater construction in zoning district Residential 2.  Dollar General Meeting will start no earlier than 7:30pm

At the aforesaid Public Hearing, the Newport Planning Board, as lead agency, will consider public response and the impact the projects will have on the community. The site plans for both properties will be on the Town of Newport Website and on display at the Newport Town Office.

Due to Covid-19 restrictions, the meeting will be held in the Town Garage and will be broadcast live on Facebook.
