PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that a public hearing will be held by the Town Board of the Town of Newport at the Town Offices, 2788 Newport Road Newport, NY 13416 on June 9, 2025 at 7:15 p.m., to hear all interested persons on a local law entitled “A Local Law to Provide for a Partial Tax Exemption for Real Property Taxes of Real Property Owned by Persons Who Are 65 Years of Age or Over by an Income-Based Sliding Scale.”
PLEASE TAKE FURTHER NOTICE that all interested persons will be given an opportunity to be heard at said hearings. The public is encouraged to submit written comments, by email to[email protected] or by mail to the Town Clerk, or by dropping a copy in the Town’s drop box at 2788 Newport Road Newport, NY 13416, for receipt in advance of the hearing by 4:00 p.m. the day of the hearing. All comments so received in advance of the hearings will be read at the meeting.
PLEASE TAKE FURTHER NOTICE that copies of said local law are available for inspection by any interested party during the Town Clerk’s office hours, Monday from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. and Wednesday and Thursday from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Town Offices, 2788 Newport Road Newport NY, 13416, and on the Town’s website www.townofnewportny.org.
