LEGAL NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING ON THE BUDGET

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Proposed Budget for 2019 of the Newport Joint Fire

District of the Town of Newport and the Town of Norway, State of New York, will be presented

to the Board of Fire Commissioners of the Newport Joint Fire District, for its consideration.

A PUBLIC HEARING will be held at 7:00 PM at the Newport Fire Station, 7370 State Route 28,

Newport, NY 13416, in the Town of Newport, State of New York on the 16th day of October, 2018.

Pursuant to Town Law 105, the Board of Fire Commissioners will hold a public hearing on the budget,

make the proposed 2019 budget available to the public prior to the public hearing, and allow the public

to comment on the budget at the public hearing.  This public hearing will be held to allow maximum public

participation in the hearing.

The purpose of the public hearing is to allow any person to be heard in favor of or against the proposed budget

as it is submitted, or for or against any item or items contained in the proposed budget, and hearing all persons

interested in the subject concerning same.

A copy of the proposed budget will be available at the Office of the Town Clerk of the Town of Newport at

the Town Hall, 2788 Newport Road, Newport, NY and at the Office of the Town Clerk of the Town of Norway at

the Town Hall, 3114 Military Road, Newport, NY where it may be inspected by any interested person during

posted office hours.
