NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING Please take notice that the Planning Board of the Town of Newport will conduct a public hearing on Wednesday, January 22nd 2020 at 7:00 PM at the Newport Town Hall 2788 Newport Road, Newport, NY 13416 to consider the following zoning changes: Change the zoning along the north side of route 28 from the Village of Newport to the Village of Poland from its current zoning of "R2" (residential) to a B1 (business) district. Changes to R2 by expanding the allowed uses in an R2 with a special use permit. These additional uses will include; restaurants, diners, ice cream parlors, bait shops, non-motorized pleasure crafts sales and rentals and garden centers. This change will be for any R2 zone in the town. The public is welcome to participate in open discussion on these topics.
