The Town of Newport intends to submit a grant application to the New York State Office of Community Renewal for $250,000 in fiscal year 2018 funding under the NYS Office of Community Renewal's Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Economic Development program to help facilitate Phase II of the Herkimer Diamond Mines Master Plan. A public hearing is held as part of the process to solicit public input with respect to the application and in accordance with 24 CFR 570.486 and New York State’s Citizen Participation Plan. More complete details of the project will be available at the hearing. The public hearing is scheduled for Wednesday, May 30, 2018 at 7:00pm. Location is the Town of Newport Offices, 2788 Newport Road, Newport, NY 13416.  The meeting venue is handicapped accessible.
