NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that the Planning Board of the Town of Newport will conduct a
public hearing on Wednesday, June 6, 2018 at 7:00 p.m. at the Newport Town Hall, 2788
Newport Road, Newport, New York 13416, to consider the following application:
Application for a Special Use Permit by Bell Atlantic Mobile Systems of Allentown, Inc.
d/b/a Verizon Wireless,1275 John Street, Suite 100, West Henrietta, New York 14586, to
permit the installation of an unmanned wireless communications facility located on a 100+
- x 100+ ft. (10,000+ sq. ft.) portion of lands now or formerly owned by Todd Cable
Properties, LLC and located near 157 West Street in the Town of Newport (Tax Map Parcel
No. 94.1-2-20.23). The proposed facility consists of a 165+ ft. self-supporting tower (169+
- when including a 4+ ft. lightning rod), one 11.5+ ft. x 16+ ft. equipment platform and
all associated antennas, improvements and access/utilities. All equipment is to be located
inside a proposed 45’ x 35’ fenced compound. Said property is located approximately 500
feet east of the Intersection of Honey Hill Road and Old State Road in the Town of
Newport. The project is an allowable land use subject to Special Use Permit approval
pursuant to §4.4 of the Newport Zoning Law.
Bell Atlantic Mobile System’s Application dated May 4, 2018, including detailed site plan
drawings by Tectonic Engineering & Surveying, is on file with the Newport Town Clerk and will
be available for inspection by the public during the Town Clerk’s regular business hours.
At the aforesaid public hearing, the Newport Planning Board as lead agency will consider
the environmental impact of the proposed project under the State Environmental Quality Review
Act.
Persons wishing to appear at the hearing may do so and will be heard. Communications in
writing in relation thereto may be filed with the Board before or at this hearing.
