PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that the Town Board of the Town of Newport, Herkimer County, New York will receive sealed bids to lease to a tenant approximately 18 acres, more or less, of Town land situated between Newport Road and the West Canada Creek in the Town of Newport for the purposes of farming for a lease term of a period of one year until 4:00 p.m. on April 28, 2025 in the Town Clerk’s Office, 2788 Newport Road, Newport, NY 13416 or by mail at P.O. Box 519, Newport, NY 13416. All bids received shall be publicly opened and read aloud at 7:15 p.m. in the Town meeting room, 2788 Newport Road, Newport, NY 13416 on April 28, 2025.
Copies of said lease agreement are available for inspection by any interested party during the Town Clerk’s office hours, Monday from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. and Wednesday and Thursday from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Town Offices, 2788 Newport Road Newport NY, 13416, and on the Town’s website www.townofnewportny.org.
Bids SHALL be submitted by completing and submitting the BID SHEET, which shall not be detached from this document. Bid documents are available in the Town Clerk’s Office, 2788 Newport, NY 13416. Bids SHALL be presented in sealed envelopes at the Town Clerk’s Office, and shall bear on the face thereof the name and address of the bidder. Bidder SHALL submit an executed NONCOLLUSION STATEMENT.
Bids will be opened at a special Newport Town Board meeting on April 28, 2025 at 7:15 pm.
The Town Board will notify Bidders within seventy-two (72) hours of acceptance.
FAILURE OF BIDDER TO COMPLY WITH ALL THE SPECIFICATIONS LISTED HEREIN ABOVE SHALL RESULT IN AUTOMATIC DISQUALIFICATION OF THEIR BID. The Town Board reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to readvertise in its discretion.
