The Town of Newport Town Board is considering adopting a resolution requesting the New York State Department of Transportation to perform a speed study on Newport Road between the Newport Village line and Hawthorne Road to lower the speed limit from 55 miles per hour (mph) to 45 mph.
However, before moving forward, the Town would like to collect feedback on the potential request from those living on the road and the larger community. Please find attached to this notice a brief questionnaire.
