LEGAL NOTICE

The Town of Newport is taking bids to lease to a tenant approximately 18 acres, more or less, of land situate between Newport Road and the West Canada Creek in the Town of Newport.  Tenant is to use the land to grow crops that are approved by the Town Board.  The term of the lease shall be for a period of two years. 

The tenant shall contact bordering land owners about using their property.

RENT:  The tenant will pay the Town for the use of the property for the balance of the current calendar year.  The rent is to be paid at the time of the execution of the lease.

The tenant shall indemnify and save the Town harmless from and against any and all liabilities, claims, fines, penalties, damages, costs, expenses, attorney’s fees and judgements.

Field inspections will be scheduled.

A copy of the lease is in the Town Clerk’s office.

Bids can be sent to the Town Clerk, Town of Newport, PO Box 519, 2788 Newport Road, Newport, NY 13416.

Bids will be open at the next Newport Town Board meeting on March 13, 2023 at 7:15 pm.
